Don and Anne Started DGNZ over 40 years ago. Don passed away at home in April 2021 and Anne lives in Geraldine.

Our History
Well known in the NZ and International Deer Industry father and son team Don & Kelly (with over 65 years experience between them) breed industry leaders, such as 6 of the previous World Record SCI stags, all of which came from Deer Genetics NZ.
We supply the NZ and International markets and also provide deer farming and genetics advice. Kelly has been involved in the deer industry all his life, has exceptional knowledge of deer genetics and consults for the deer industry worldwide.
The Deer Genetics team work hard in the season to keep their clients updated with their stags’ progress by regularly uploading latest photos and videos of the stags onto the website and giving personal views of the Sire Stags and Sale Stags.

South Canterbury is famous for its grassy plains, clear lakes and snow-capped mountains.
