About Motsumi DG
- Motsumi DG had an impressive head as a spiker, very good spread and 21 points. As a 2yr old he carried a record breaking head. Bifurcated brow tines, huge trez basal snags, SA above the trez. At 2 he had 35 points with an SCI score of 367 a tremendous head for a 2yr old. He's the best 2yr old Don has seen in the 25 years that he has been involved with deer
- Motsumi DG's antler conformation is very similiar to his grandsires Jamie & Wellington of Furzeland Park, strong tines and multi-pointed tops with throwbacks. As a 3yr old Motsumi went into overdrive. Huge beam, long tines and trez that go on forever.
- He cast his buttons on the 25 August 2002, and had a massive lump of velvet growing on his head. All Motsumis rising 1yr stags of our own (out of 1st calvers) are multi- pointed.
- When Motsumis head was scored at 4yrs we were amazed at the size of his coronets - a massive 11.4inches with a thick beam measurement of 7.6inches He is putting up the points as well as growing impressive velvet producing beam, which is evident in his HA weight of 11.25kgs.

- 2004 cast 20 August. His progeny in our herd continue to perform at the top end of the trophy market. Leonardo DG is a son of Motsumi out of an Adonis hind. Leo is shaping up to be a top trophy sire.You can view Leonardos antlers on his webpage. His 2004 head is damaged
- Our other Motsumi sons out of Adonis hinds performed brilliantly. We only had 6 sons born 2001 and all 6 are producing fantastic trophy heads.
- 2005 - 7yr old Motsumi cast 18 August. Sadly Motsumi died this year. He choked on a button. His death is the passing of a giant among super sires, he produced so many top line stags with fantastic trophy heads. His genetics combined with Adonis genetics have proved to be a winner. It is the mark of a champion sire when his progeny surpasses him.
