With antler traits being highly heritable, the use of DNA profiling has given us a level of certainty we haven’t had before and along with artificial insemination and embryo transfer programmes, the gains have been phenomenal. We have doubled the size of our antler in twenty years and seen huge gains in velvet yield as well.
Velvet production is a significant part of our operation and stags like Hannibal DG, Huneric DG & Genghis DG are underrated by the industry. It is possible to have a foot in each camp!
